Van Gaal Reveals Man Utd’s Undroppable Star

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has suggested that Wayne Rooney is not able to be dropped from his first team, with the player earning special priveleges as a result of being captain of the side, as reported by the Daily Star.

This will come as a surprise to the majority of fans, who have seen Rooney perform poorly thus far this season. He was awarded the captaincy this summer, and many thought it to be a bad choice, given his questionable form over the last few seasons.

However, Van Gaal has now clarified that, despite believing no player to be fixed in the side, he thinks his captain should always play whenever he is available, along with his first choice goalkeeper.

Van Gaal said: “I don’t think any player is fixed.

“Only the captain has more privileges but no other player has privileges I think.

“Every player knows that because when you see how I manage my teams.

“There are always players you put in a team. My captain shall always play and normally the goalkeeper.”

Rooney was also awarded the England armband this summer after the retirement of Steven Gerrard, and led the national side to two victories during the last international break.

Man Utd Hero Reveals Rooney Rage

Manchester United’s former hero Rio Ferdinand has revealed that Wayne Rooney suffered from severe anger when he first moved to Old Trafford, and that the player used to smash phones on a regular basis, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Ferdinand returned to the Manchester club last weekend, playing there with his new side Queens Park Rangers. The Harry Redknapp-managed team fell to a staggering 4-0 loss, offering little in the way of resistance to a resurgent Man Utd side, buoyed by a significant spend in the last moments of the summer transfer window.

The defender has recently serialised his new autobiography in The Sun, and in this, he reveals how Wayne Rooney was during his early days at Man Utd.

Ferdinand wrote: “Wayne Rooney always struck me as a very angry young man, always arguing with people outside the training ground, especially on the phone.

“He seemed to fly into a rage about the smallest things and went through mobile phones like they were sweets.

“He’d smash phones up in frustration throwing them on the concrete. Other players used to laugh about it.”

Rooney has since been appointed captain of both the Old Trafford club and the England national side this summer, and is into his tenth year as a player for Man Utd.

QPR Boss Fears “Dangerous” Man Utd Forward Line

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has referred to Manchester United’s brand new forward line as dangerous, with the London club tasked with being the first side to face a side boosted by the shock deadline day arrival of Radamel Falcao, as reported by the Daily Express.

It is not just Falcao’s arrival that has served to improve Man Utd’s forward line, however, as the addition of Angel Di Maria earlier in the transfer window represented the capture of the most impressive player of last season’s Champions League final for a British record transfer fee. Di Maria cost £59.7 million to tempt away from Real Madrid.

Man Utd already have Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie available to them, along with the likes of Juan Mata and Adnan Januzaj. That combination did not impress last season, however, as Man Utd finished seventh. Van Gaal has improved in an attempt to get the club back into the Champions League, and Redknapp is worried about the side he now faces.

He said: “Well, it certainly sounds dangerous!

“It’s got the makings of a great forward line.

“It’ll be interesting to see how they gel together. Di Maria doesn’t sound too bad either.

“We’ve got to go up there and make sure we work hard. We’ve got to be prepared to give them a game on Sunday.”
