£59.7m Man Utd Star Impressed By Teammate’s Hunger

Manchester United star Angel Di Maria has revealed that he has been surprised by the hunger and commitment shown by England captain Wayne Rooney since Di Maria’s arrival at the club, as reported by the Daily Star.

The Argentinian international moved to Old Trafford this summer for a huge £59.7 million, the record transfer paid out by a British side.

He spent a spell on the sidelines recently, but returned during Man Utd’s 2-0 victory against Yeovil Town at the weekend.

The Old Trafford club struggled to break down the League One side for the first period of the match, until Ander Herrera hit home a sensational volley from the edge of the area.

Di Maria then capped off the display with a fine goal, finishing off a swooping counter attack in typical style.

He has now spoken to Radio America, expressing his respect for Man Utd’s captain’s attitude since he has arrived at the club.

“Rooney is an impressive player,” he said.

“He plays 90 minutes in every game. He is always committed, giving everything in every match.

“He has this quality, mentality and this hunger to play every game that is incomparable. It is he that has surprised me the most, with his hunger and how he commits to every game. He is a player that deserves to be here.”

£59.7m Man Utd Star And Agent Reveals Ronaldo’s Old Trafford Future

Manchester United star Angel Di Maria has explained that he does not believe Cristiano Ronaldo will be returning to Manchester United at any point in the future, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has also spoken to the press, telling them that he believes Ronaldo will end his career with Real Madrid, where he has firmly established himself as one of the best players in the world, and of all time.

Man Utd attempted to bring Ronaldo back to the club last summer, and there was a belief that they might be able to tempt him into returning to the Premier League at some point in the near future.

Di Maria and Ronaldo were both close during their time at Real, and he also believes that there is little chance of the Portuguese international returning to his former stomping ground, whether in this transfer window or the summer.

“I don’t think he is coming back to Manchester,” said the Argentinian winger.

“It’s hard to quit Real Madrid.

“I think he’s having a great time and I don’t see that he wants to change.”

Mendes also denied the possibility, saying: “I got to know him when he was 15 years old, from then until now we’ve spoken together on most days. When I’m in Madrid we always meet up, our relationship is more like a friendship.

“I believe that Cristiano will finish his career at Real Madrid. He’s happy at the club and is still keen to achieve more success in Madrid.”

Man Utd Boss Lauds Resilience In FA Cup Clash, With Particular Praise For £59.7m Ace

Manchester United manager has praised his side’s resilience after their progression from the third round of the FA Cup, as reported by ManUtd.com.

The Red Devils managed to progress past League One side Yeovil Town, but it took until late in the game for them to break the deadlock and ensure an expected victory.

Ander Herrera latched on to a bouncing ball, volleying it past the flailing Yeovil goalkeeper, and from that point on, the win looked relatively assured.

However, it was left to £59.7 million summer signing Angel Di Maria to wrap up the game, as he completed a swooping counter attack by hitting home the second goal of the game.

It was Louis van Gaal’s first experience in England’s most coveted cup competition, and he was full of praise for his troops after their display in the match.

“It’s always difficult to play against such teams,” Van Gaal said.

“They gave us not so much time and every ball came under pressure. I have lot of respect for the players and coach of Yeovil Town – it was not so easy for us.

“In the second half, we had a little bit more time and space, we played better and were more patient.

“We kept the ball better also and, because of that, we could score the winning goal.

“We dominated the game, more so in the second half. They had one chance from a set-piece, but we were organised and Angel Di Maria cleared it away. It’s just simple organisation. I think they maybe had one more chance after a mistake from one of my players, but that’s it.

“[Herrera’s strike] was class, and not his first from outside the box. It had a little bit of luck, but you need that, I’m very happy for him.”
