Liverpool Boss Denies Rumours Linking Stunning Star With Move

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has denied the recent transfer rumours linking his young star Raheem Sterling with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, as reported by the Daily Express.

The last season has seen Sterling develop into one of the top young talents operating in the world game, and it is unsurprising to see him linked with the world’s top clubs.

The England international has had a meteoric rise under Rodgers, and is a regular first team player for both club and country.

However, he has not received a new contract from the Anfield club since appearing for the first team on a more regular basis, and it was suggested that Real thought this was an opportunity that they could exploit.

Rodgers has moved to dismiss this, implying that Sterling will receive a new contract from the Reds in the near future anyway.

He said: “I think it shows that he is playing very well. You could link him with every club in the world. I sit easy with the speculation. Him and his representatives know how comfortable he is here.

“At some point in the future he will be rewarded for his performance but he still has three years left on his contract. There is no rush. ”

He also confirmed that Sterling would play against Everton in the Merseyside derby at the weekend.

Rodgers said: “He had a breather against Aston Villa. He is a super-fit boy and he will be there at the weekend against Everton.”

Man Utd Buy Could Cost Liverpool Their 19 Year Old Starlet – reports

Liverpool’s young star Raheem Sterling has been targeted by Real Madrid for a potential move when the transfer window reopens, as reported by the Daily Star.

The move could be funded by the money the Spanish club have received from the transfer of Angel Di Maria, meaning that fierce rivals Manchester United would contribute directly to the loss of a talented young forward.

The huge fee paid by Man Utd was seen as significantly inflated, and it now seems as though without the £59.7 million fee paid, Real would not have thought to target Sterling.

This is an issue for Liverpool, because the Anfield club have not signed Sterling to a new deal since he emerged as one of the best players in the Premier League.

He is on only £30,000 a week, which is a small sum compared to his teammates and what Real could offer him.

This is part of Brendan Rodgers’s policy regarding young talent.

The manager has said in the past, regarding Sterling’s contract situation: “When you reward young players too quickly – Raheem’s still only 19 – you give them too much too early and that will be their downfall. It’s a big problem because they lose their hunger.”

As a result, the young star is reportedly being targeted by Real, who could significantly increase his wage packet.

Confirmed Liverpool XI vs. Ludogorets: 19-Year-Old Sensation Returns To The Side

Liverpool have confirmed their starting eleven for their return to the Champions League tonight.

After the 1-0 loss against Aston Villa at the weekend, Liverpool need a big result to kickstart their season, and there would be no better opportunity to get it than in their first Champions League game for five years.

Rodgers led the side back into the competition last season by finishing second in the Premier League. An unlikely title challenge was scuppered in the last weeks of the season, but the club still managed to qualify automatically for the elite European competition by finishing as runners up.

The reintroduction of Raheem Sterling to the starting eleven will come as a boost to Liverpool fans, who have seen the youngster develop into one of the best players in the country over the last year.

Sterling was dropped against Villa due to concerns over him suffering burnout, but there will be few sides in Europe who do not fear coming up against him.

The confirmed line up is as follows:
