Arsenal And Chelsea’s £19m Blow In Chase For Wonderkid

Arsenal have been dealt a £19 million blow in their chase for Barcelona wonderkid Munir El-Haddadi.

The Gunners had identified the young Barca star as a potential signing, especially because of his £9 million release clause in his contract.

That deal undervalued a player who has been tipped to be reach the same heights as stars like Lionel Messi.

However, the north London side have had some bad news in their chase for the Spanish international, who was capped for the first time in September.

Munir renewed his contract with the Spanish side earlier this week, increasing his release clause to a staggering €35 million, as reported by the Daily Express.

This means that Arsene Wenger’s side would have to stump up £28 million for the player, almost certainly too much of a risk for a player who has not yet proven himself at the highest level.

Munir has scored one goal in six appearances for Barcelona this season, and was also chased by the likes of Chelsea.

His new deal did not extend the length of his contract, just increased the release clause, showing Barca’s fear over a predatory side stealing one of their hottest young talents.

Arsenal Could Be Scuppered In Move For £10 Million Starlet – reports

Arsenal could face competition from the likes of Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich, in their chase for young Barcelona star Munir El Haddadi, as reported by the Daily Star.

The north London club have emerged as likely suitors for the young star, who has impressed for the Catalan giants since the start of the new season.

His impact for the club has been so great that he was called up to the Spanish national side in the place of Diego Costa, when the Chelsea star was forced to withdraw with a hamstring problem.

With Arsenal eyeing a cut price £10 million move for the player, given his low release clause from Barca, it seemed there was little possible opposition to his signing.

However, both PSG and Bayern are now said to be chasing the 19 year old’s signature, and the two European big guns could offer significant opposition to Arsenal in their chase for the star.

Arsenal Make Big Money Offer For 19-Year-Old Sensation – reports

Arsenal are set to make a big money offer to Barcelona youngster Munir El Haddadi, with the Gunners keen to snatch the young talent while his £9 million release clause is still active in his contract, as reported by Sport Witness.

The Spanish youngster was recently called up to the full international side, replacing Chelsea’s Diego Costa after he withdrew from the squad as a result of a hamstring injury.

He also made his Barcelona first team debut this season, and has scored one goal in the four games he’s played for the Catalan giants.

However, a clause in his contract which allows him to depart for €12 million (£9 million) does not stop existing until he becomes a fully fledged member of the first team, and Arsenal are hoping to take advantage of that.

To that end, they’ve offered him a supposedly astronomical fee to bring him in to the Emirates Stadium, although Spanish outlet Sport believe he will likely turn it down and remain at the Camp Nou as a result.
