Arsenal Could Be Scuppered In Move For £10 Million Starlet – reports

Arsenal could face competition from the likes of Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich, in their chase for young Barcelona star Munir El Haddadi, as reported by the Daily Star.

The north London club have emerged as likely suitors for the young star, who has impressed for the Catalan giants since the start of the new season.

His impact for the club has been so great that he was called up to the Spanish national side in the place of Diego Costa, when the Chelsea star was forced to withdraw with a hamstring problem.

With Arsenal eyeing a cut price £10 million move for the player, given his low release clause from Barca, it seemed there was little possible opposition to his signing.

However, both PSG and Bayern are now said to be chasing the 19 year old’s signature, and the two European big guns could offer significant opposition to Arsenal in their chase for the star.

30-Year-Old Sensational Man Utd Target Believes Van Gaal Will Return To CL

Former Chelsea star and current Bayern Munich player Arjen Robben has backed his former manager Louis van Gaal to turn Manchester United back into Premier League champions again, despite their shaky start to the new season, as reported by the Daily Star.

Van Gaal was tasked with the rebuilding of Man Utd’s shattered squad this summer, with the club having slumped to a seventh place finish in the Premier League last season.

The job done by former boss David Moyes took the majority of the blame when judgements were handed out at the end of the last campaign, but Van Gaal has struggled to get Man Utd into a rhythm since the start of the season.

They have won only one game, and suffered a stunning and humiliating 4-0 loss against MK Dons in the League Cup.

Robben, however, feels as though the club managed by his former boss can succeed. The Dutch winger was linked with a move to Man Utd this summer, although it seems as though Bayern scuppered it, judging by Pep Guardiola’s recent comments.

He said: “I haven’t spoken to him recently, but I was very happy for him that he won the game against QPR.

“Hopefully now he can show that he will do very well, but he needs time.

“I know how it works – if you are not winning, you get the pressure but the management at United know what sort of coach they have got and I am very confident he will be successful there.

“I have worked with Van Gaal at Bayern as well as with Holland, so I have known him for a very long time.

“He is one of the few coaches, I think, who can make teams play better. He makes players better.

“United have some young, talented players and I have no doubts that he will do well at Old Trafford.

“He will get United back into the Champions League next season, where they belong.

“They are such a big club and that is where they belong.”

Bayern Boss Mocks Man Utd And Says They Can’t Afford His Players

Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola has mocked Manchester United, saying that the Old Trafford club cannot afford to sign his players, despite the club spending a significant sum in this summer’s transfer market in an attempt to rejuvenate their squad, as reported by the Daily Express.

The Bavarian club face Man Utd’s city rivals Manchester City in the Champions League this week, but despite this, Guardiola was keen to take a pot shot at Louis van Gaal’s new side.

Guardiola is regarded as one of the best managers in the world, having taken Barcelona to new heights in his time with the Catalan club. His first season with Bayern saw them win the Bundesliga in March, before beating Borussia Dortmund in the German cup.

There is, however, an expectation that Bayern need to match up to the achievements of Jupp Heynckes this season, who led the club to a treble, also winning the Champions League, in his last season with the club.

Guardiola said: “[Manchester United] don’t have enough money, I saw they spent this kind of money.

“It’s good for my friend Louis. I know all the players the clubs want, it just depends on the player.

“If the player wants to stay, they stay. Manchester United wants these kind of players, but they want to stay and we are happy to be here.”
