Arsenal Line Up Mega Manager To Replace Wenger – reports

Arsenal have identified former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola as the ideal replacement for current incumbent Arsene Wenger, as reported by the Daily Star.

Wenger’s side have struggled somewhat since the start of the season, despite having seen a significant summer spend take place.

The French manager was backed heavily in the summer transfer market, spending £32 million on Alexis Sanchez, but displays have not matched up to expectation.

He also took significant risks with the squad, going into the season with only Olivier Giroud available as a striker.

He was then forced to buy Danny Welbeck when Giroud picked up a long term injury.

There is also a sense that Wenger’s time in the game is coming to an end, with the boss getting older and younger managers regularly trumping him on a game by game basis.

As a result, the north London side are looking to Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola to replace Wenger when he chooses to call time on his Arsenal reign.

Bayern Boss Mocks Man Utd And Says They Can’t Afford His Players

Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola has mocked Manchester United, saying that the Old Trafford club cannot afford to sign his players, despite the club spending a significant sum in this summer’s transfer market in an attempt to rejuvenate their squad, as reported by the Daily Express.

The Bavarian club face Man Utd’s city rivals Manchester City in the Champions League this week, but despite this, Guardiola was keen to take a pot shot at Louis van Gaal’s new side.

Guardiola is regarded as one of the best managers in the world, having taken Barcelona to new heights in his time with the Catalan club. His first season with Bayern saw them win the Bundesliga in March, before beating Borussia Dortmund in the German cup.

There is, however, an expectation that Bayern need to match up to the achievements of Jupp Heynckes this season, who led the club to a treble, also winning the Champions League, in his last season with the club.

Guardiola said: “[Manchester United] don’t have enough money, I saw they spent this kind of money.

“It’s good for my friend Louis. I know all the players the clubs want, it just depends on the player.

“If the player wants to stay, they stay. Manchester United wants these kind of players, but they want to stay and we are happy to be here.”
