Roma have reportedly joined Atletico Madrid in the race for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, and are set to make a bid for him in the near future, as reported by the Daily Star.
Reports from Italy suggest that the Serie A side are keen on the recently demoted ‘keeper, and are intending to step up their interest in the near future.
Cech has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge after the return of Thibaut Courtois from his extended loan spell at Atletico Madrid.
Courtois became first choice under Jose Mourinho at the start of the season, and has impressed since being given the opportunity.
Atletico are another club who hold an interest in the Czech international goalkeeper, and could still compete with Roma for his signature in the near future.
Cech is apparently keen to leave the west London club when an opportunity arises, as he is unwilling to play second fiddle.
He recently said: “There is no time for me to sit on the bench and not to play.
