Manchester United have received a huge boost in their chase for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado, after his contract talks with his current club broke down, as reported by the Daily Star.
The Old Trafford club took significant looks at him this summer, as he impressed at the World Cup, but there were suggestions that he was about to sign a new, more highly paid, deal with the Florence team.
This came despite apparent interest from giants like Barcelona and Bayern Munich, with the Catalan club thought to be particularly interested in a move for him.
However, reports in Italy are now suggesting that discussions between Fiorentina and the Colombian international over a new deal have broken down.
With so much interest brewing for Cuadrado, the speedster was hoping to significantly increase his current £1 million annual pay packet.
Man Utd have previously been interested in the player, and he would suit Louis van Gaal’s preferred 3-5-2 system perfectly.
They would not face any competition from Barcelona, who are now under a transfer embargo.
