24-Goal Star Denies Interest In Arsenal Or Liverpool Swap

Despite being consistently linked with a move away from Napoli this season, Gonzalo Higuain has denied any interest in making the switch away from the Serie A side.

This has put a doubt on any hopes Arsenal and Liverpool may have had of tempting the striker away from Italy, as reported by Talksport.

The Argentinian international moved to Napoli last summer for £32 million, despite significant interest from elsewhere in Europe, with both Arsenal and Liverpool linked with moves.

He made a huge impact in his first season, helping Napoli qualify for the Champions League by bagging 24 goals in the league.

The Serie A side have made a slow start to the new campaign, and boss Rafa Benitez is already under pressure from the club’s hierarchy.

Higuain did not feature during Napoli’s 3-3 draw with recently promoted Palermo, and there were suggestions that this was as a result of the speculation linking him with a move away.

The striker has, however, denied any interest in a switch, saying: “Am I happy to play for Napoli? It is a fantastic city to play football.

“I came here gladly and it is a marvellous city.”
