Hodgson Says Liverpool Boss Doesn’t Know What He’s Doing

England manager Roy Hodgson has continued his developing feud with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, by telling the press that the Anfield gaffer does not know what he’s doing, as reported by the Daily Star.

Rodgers and Hodgson have been having a war of words recently over the use of Raheem Sterling, who has come to the fore for both club and national team in recent months.

The Northern Irish manager has expressed his concern about Sterling suffering from burnout in the future, if he is overplayed.

To that end, Rodgers has dropped Sterling on occasion, in order to ensure that the 19 year old will sustain his current exceptional form.

Rodgers was also unhappy at Daniel Sturridge’s injury, which he picked up in the last international break.

The Anfield boss is a proponent of a two day recovery period after matches, and believed Hodgson’s over training was at fault for Sturridge’s injury.

Hodgson said: “I don’t think there is a lot of medical evidence to support the ‘two day recovery’.

“If you want to, you might want to research that one. Certainly, the Germans, who everyone admires so much, they don’t do it. That is for certain.

“Raheem might say it (the two-day recovery period) is something that is becoming ingrained in him and that he felt the need to talk about being tired more than he would normally do.”

Man Utd Hero Defends Liverpool Starlet For Controversial Decision

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has come out in defence of Raheem Sterling’s decision to tell Roy Hodgson that he was tired prior to England’s clash with Bosnia, as reported by the Daily Express.

Sterling was left out of the starting line up in Sunday’s clash after expressing fatigue to Hodgson during a training session, with fellow Liverpool star Adam Lallana taking his place in the side.

The 19 year old star was still able to make a big impact on the game, winning the free kick which Wayne Rooney converted, after coming off the bench in the 64th minute.

England went on to win the game by that solitary goal, but despite the 1-0 victory, Sterling’s actions were criticised by some fans.

Ferdinand has, however, launched a defence of the young star.

He posted the following on his Twitter account in response to some of the anger that has been directed at the highly rated Sterling.

Sensational Liverpool Starlet Pans His Critics

Liverpool wonderkid Raheem Sterling has hit back at his critics after several people questioned his commitment, following his absence from England’s starting line up against Bosnia last night, as reported by the Daily Express.

Sterling did have an effect on the game, despite not starting, winning the free kick that Wayne Rooney converted after he came on from the bench.

However, Roy Hodgson suggested to the press pre-match that he had left Sterling out after being told by the Anfield star that he was feeling tired at a training session on Saturday.

With England returning from Talinn, where they won 1-0 to continue their perfect start to the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, Sterling posted a cryptic tweet, suggesting to his critics that he has done no wrong.

“Now listening too.. Excuse me for being human. On my way home,” he tweeted.

The manager has also defended Sterling after the game, saying that him and Sterling decided what to do together.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has worried over Sterling suffering burn out in recent weeks.
