Van Gaal Reveals Man Utd’s Undroppable Star

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has suggested that Wayne Rooney is not able to be dropped from his first team, with the player earning special priveleges as a result of being captain of the side, as reported by the Daily Star.

This will come as a surprise to the majority of fans, who have seen Rooney perform poorly thus far this season. He was awarded the captaincy this summer, and many thought it to be a bad choice, given his questionable form over the last few seasons.

However, Van Gaal has now clarified that, despite believing no player to be fixed in the side, he thinks his captain should always play whenever he is available, along with his first choice goalkeeper.

Van Gaal said: “I don’t think any player is fixed.

“Only the captain has more privileges but no other player has privileges I think.

“Every player knows that because when you see how I manage my teams.

“There are always players you put in a team. My captain shall always play and normally the goalkeeper.”

Rooney was also awarded the England armband this summer after the retirement of Steven Gerrard, and led the national side to two victories during the last international break.

30-Year-Old Sensational Man Utd Target Believes Van Gaal Will Return To CL

Former Chelsea star and current Bayern Munich player Arjen Robben has backed his former manager Louis van Gaal to turn Manchester United back into Premier League champions again, despite their shaky start to the new season, as reported by the Daily Star.

Van Gaal was tasked with the rebuilding of Man Utd’s shattered squad this summer, with the club having slumped to a seventh place finish in the Premier League last season.

The job done by former boss David Moyes took the majority of the blame when judgements were handed out at the end of the last campaign, but Van Gaal has struggled to get Man Utd into a rhythm since the start of the season.

They have won only one game, and suffered a stunning and humiliating 4-0 loss against MK Dons in the League Cup.

Robben, however, feels as though the club managed by his former boss can succeed. The Dutch winger was linked with a move to Man Utd this summer, although it seems as though Bayern scuppered it, judging by Pep Guardiola’s recent comments.

He said: “I haven’t spoken to him recently, but I was very happy for him that he won the game against QPR.

“Hopefully now he can show that he will do very well, but he needs time.

“I know how it works – if you are not winning, you get the pressure but the management at United know what sort of coach they have got and I am very confident he will be successful there.

“I have worked with Van Gaal at Bayern as well as with Holland, so I have known him for a very long time.

“He is one of the few coaches, I think, who can make teams play better. He makes players better.

“United have some young, talented players and I have no doubts that he will do well at Old Trafford.

“He will get United back into the Champions League next season, where they belong.

“They are such a big club and that is where they belong.”

PL Rival Star Blasts Man Utd Boss, Says He Made Bayern Stink

Manchester City star Martin Demichelis has blasted Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, who he played under at Bayern Munich, saying that the Dutch manager’s arrival at the German giants coincided with the entire place starting to stink, in Demichelis’ eyes, as reported by the Daily Star.

The City defender was widely criticised upon his arrival in the Premier League, but after the turn of the year, he established himself as a confident and solid defensive partner for Vincent Kompany.

The Argentinian then reached the World Cup final with his nation, which they lost, and has impressed at the start of this season, scoring a header to give City a point away from home against Arsenal.

He was forced out of Bayern in 2010 by Van Gaal, ending a seven year spell at the club.

Demichelis has clearly never forgiven him for that, and, when ased about Van Gaal, said: “I achieved a great deal at Munich. I used my strengths to win a place in the first team.

“I became a fan of the club. I felt like a favourite son.

“But from the first moment Van Gaal arrived at Bayern the place began to stink.
