Shocking Chelsea Swoop Lined Up – reports

Joan Laporte has reportedly lined up Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to become his manager at the Nou Camp, if he chooses to run for president of the club in the near future, as reported by the Daily Express.

The former president is reportedly considering opposing current chief Josep Maria Bartomeu for control of the Catalan Giants.

Laporte is reportedly unhappy at the direction that the club has taken in recent years.

Commonly, elections are aided by the promise of a big signing.

Barca are in a troubling position for any potential candidate, however, with the club under a transfer embargo.

As a result, reports in Spain believe that the Portuguese manager would instead be his promise to the fans.

Mourinho famously worked as a translator and coach under Sir Bobby Robson and Louis van Gaal respectively at the Catalan giants.

Laporte himself has hinted that he is likely to run for the post, saying: “I don’t rule it out and the support moves me. Each day that passes motivates me more.

“I am not thinking about it, I have work and it doesn’t obsess me. It is not my priority.

“In life one must innovate and it is difficult to repeat the past. When the time comes I will make up my mind.”

Liverpool Boss Reveals Lessons Learnt From Chelsea Manager

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed the lessons that he learnt from Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, paying tribute to the influence that he had on his career, as reported by the Daily Star.

Rodgers got his start under Mourinho at Chelsea, working as the reserve team gaffer.

He eventually departed Stamford Bridge in order to begin his own managerial career.

A poor spell at Reading followed, before another opportunity arose at Swansea City, where he established himself as one of the more highly rated young managers in world football.

From there, John W Henry and Liverpool came calling, and he was appointed as manager at the historic Merseyside club.

He hasn’t looked back since joining the Reds, leading them to a second place finish in the Premier League last season and qualifying for the Champions League in the process.

However, he took time to credit Mourinho for the initial influence he had on him, saying: “It was a wonderful experience, I learned.

“Jose was a great planner and a good man to me as a young coach.

“He gave me responsibility, and the pressure of working with the big players when I was just 30 years of age.

“I will always be grateful to him for giving me the opportunity to coach the reserve team and be near him, and the first team.

“He’s a friend of mine and its slightly different now because we are both so engrossed in our roles and our jobs that we don’t get the chance to speak so much now.”

Chelsea Boss Turned Down European Giants Twice

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho turned down Paris Saint Germain twice, it has been revealed, with the Portuguese manager having been offered the opportunity to manage the big spending French side before agreeing a return to Stamford Bridge, as reported by the Daily Star.

Mourinho returned to Chelsea last summer, starting his second spell at the club after a six year absence.

However, Mourinho has since admitted that he was given the chance to take charge of the French champions.

“I was the first choice of Leonardo. I said no to PSG twice,” he told Telefoot.

“Paris can win the Champions League, it would be fantastic to have a Chelsea-PSG in the final.

“Paris is in good hands, Laurent Blanc is a good manager.”

The Blues have emerged as the comfortable favourites for the Premier League crown this season, having remained undefeated until this point.

Their blistering start has seen them demolish team after team, and prior to the international break they managed a very comfortable 2-0 win against their city rivals Arsenal.

The form of Diego Costa has been a particular highlight, with his work in tandem with Cesc Fabregas demonstrating an innate and brilliant understanding.
