Leeds Utd Confirmed XI: ‘Warrior’ Returns To Side And Adryan Misses Out

Leeds United have confirmed their starting eleven for the game against Wigan Athletic in the Championship today, which is set to kick off at 3pm at Elland Road.

Neil Redfearn has turned to Guiseppe Bellusci in an attempt to improve his defensive options, with he Italian defender finally available to the first team after an extended lay off.

The last game that Bellusci was available for was the game against Derby County, when Leeds beat the then league leaders 2-0 at home.

Since then, the FA have confirmed that he will face a charge for alleged racist abuse against Norwich City striker Cameron Jerome.

That was one of Leeds’ best displays since the start of the season, and helped justify Massimo Cellino’s decision to appoint Redfearn as Leeds boss on a permanent basis.

Since then, displays for the Whites have been up and down, but last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest was a decent result for the Elland Road side.

The line up is as follows:

Confirmed XI Leeds vs. Fulham: ‘Warrior’ Misses Out

Leeds United struggled in their last game against Ipswich, ultimately falling to a 4-1 loss against Mick McCarthy’s side, having taken an early lead in the game through Italian striker Mirco Antenucci.

Antenucci retains his place in the starting line-up for the game against Fulham at Elland Road today, and will partner Souleymane Doukara up front, who he has combined well with regularly.

It will be interesting to see how the duo perform, with former Leeds hero Ross McCormack on display for Fulham to remind fans of the Whites what they lost in the summer.

That move cost the London side £11 million.

Leeds have made no alterations to the side that lost 4-1 to Ipswich, with Guiseppe Bellusci missing out after failing to recover from a strain in time for today’s clash.

Stephen Warnock retains the captain’s armband, which he took after Pearce lost his place in the side.

Adryan, Alex Mowatt, Lewis Cook and Tommasso Bianchi continue in midfield.

Sam Byram plays on the right side of defence, with Liam Cooper partnering Pearce.

Marco Silvestri remains in between the sticks for the Elland Road side.

Casper Sloth has returned to the bench after a long absence.

Racism Storm Leeds Defender WILL Start Against Wolves

Leeds United defender Guiseppe Bellusci, who has been at the centre of a racism storm since the club’s clash against Norwich City on Tuesday, will start against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, as reported by Adam Pope of BBC Radio Leeds.

The Italian star has been accused by Cameron Jerome of using racist language against him during the clash.

The two had a series of incidents in the first half, and Jerome informed referee Mark Clattenburg about the alleged issue.

As a result, Clattenburg spoke to both managers before restarting the match.

The two got involved with each other once again, with Jerome seemingly knocking into Bellusci in an off the ball incident before being yellow carded.

However, it has since emerged that Bellusci allegedly used racist language to Jerome.

The Football Association are now investigating.

Despite this, head coach Darko Milanic has confirmed that the centre back will play against Wolves at the weekend.
