Everton Boost In Chase for 20-Year-Old Wing Wizard – reports

Everton have received something of a boost in their chase for Barcelona star Gerard Deulofeu, with the winger having failed to make an impact since joining fellow Spanish side Sevilla on loan, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Deulofeu spent last season on loan with the Goodison Park club, but they were thwarted in their attempts to resign him during the summer months.

Sevilla boss Unai Emery remains unsure about the 20 year old star, and has reportedly refused to give him any more games until his attitude and application improves.

As a result, Barcelona could look to cut Deulofeu’s stay at Sevilla short, before agreeing another loan for the youngster in January.

The Catalan giants sent the dynamo out on loan in an attempt to give him more game time, and won’t be happy to see him stuck on the sidelines.

However, Emery is still refusing to guarantee him any more games, saying: “Regardless of the contract, I only select my top XI. If for now he’s playing a little less, it does not mean that next month he will play more.

“The club does not obligate me to do anything, all players are equal. His selection will come with the process of improvement. I hope he does, because it is a challenge we have set.

“We want him to improve his overall game – his team play and defensive actions.”

Everton Boost In Battle To Re-sign 20-Year-Old Spanish Sensation – reports

Everton have been given a huge boost in their hopes of bringing Gerard Deulofeu back to Goodison park, with Barcelona becoming frustrated at his lack of first team opportunities while playing for Sevilla, as reported by the Daily Express.

Unlike his time at Everton, where he was often used as an impact substitute, the Catalan club had allowed Deulofeu to join Sevilla under the assumption that he would play a significant amount of football for the Spanish side.

However, the La Masia graduate has featured for only 17 minutes during Sevilla’s opening four fixtures, and according to reports in his home land, this is not to Barcelona manager Luis Enrique’s liking.

Barca could yet terminate his season long loan deal, which would put Everton in pole position to sign him again.

Roberto Martinez would not be able to bring him back until January, but despite interest in doing so before, the arrival of Christian Atsu on loan from Chelsea might mean there is no place in Everton’s squad for the young star.
