Arsenal To Beat Chelsea To CL Winning World Class Defender

Arsenal have lined up a shock move for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos ahead of the January transfer window.

The Gunners require significant defensive reinforcements in January, having seen a leaderless back line repeatedly collapse against opposition in the Premier League, pushing them down the table, in relation to their usual high position.

As a result, Arsenal have supposedly lined up a surprise move for Ramos, who is considered to be one of the best defenders in the world.

They are hoping to beat other sides that have been linked with a move, like Chelsea, who are managed by former Real boss Jose Mourinho, by holding secret talks with his agent ahead of a deal.

AS reporter Manuel Esteban Manolete spoke to Spanish radio show La Goleada, saying: “Wenger has called Rene Ramos, the agent and brother of Sergio Ramos.”

Ramos’ negotiations with Real over a new contract have stalled, and as a result, Wenger believes the time is right to capture the sensational defender.

Ramos has won the European Championship twice with Spain, the World Cup and captured the Champions League with Real last season.

Champions Discuss Deal For £50m Chelsea Flop – reports

Atletico Madrid have opened up negotiations with AC Milan over the possible return of Fernando Torres to the Spanish capital in the January transfer window.

The Chelsea misfit has struggled since joining Milan on loan in the summer, being granted very few opportunities to impress while playing at the San Siro.

Torres has failed to hit the heights of his time at Liverpool since moving to Stamford Bridge, with his £50 million deal proving one of the more costly mistakes of the Roman Abramovich era.

Any deal that went through would be reliant on Allesio Cerci moving to Milan, according to AS.com.

Chelsea are unlikely to stand in the way of any switch in loan destination, having been perfectly happy to see Torres join Milan for two seasons.

Torres’ homecoming to Atletico comes after Diego Simeone asked his club’s board for another striker.

A move back to the Spanish champions would see him join the club where he began his career.

Talks Underway With CEO For £120m Man Utd Gareth Bale Move

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has refused to deny the link to Gareth Bale in his press conference prior to the Newcastle United clash today.

Reports emerged from Spain last night that the Old Trafford club were preparing a huge €153 million (£120m) transfer bid for the Welsh wing wizard.

As a result, journalists chose to ask Van Gaal whether there was any truth in the rumours, and whether a bid would be forthcoming in the future.

Van Gaal refused to comment on the speculation, and admitted that he has been having discussions with his CEO over the deal, suggesting that there may be more in the story than previously suggested.

He said: “I can’t discuss [Bale] with you. I discuss that with my CEO and no one from the media.”

Man Utd have been on a good run recently, pushing them back into title contention.

They drew 1-1 with Aston Villa at the weekend though.

Real Madrid and Bale recently captured the Club World Cup, his third trophy since his move to Spain from Spurs last summer.
