Man Utd Plot £25m PL Rival Raid – reports

Manchester United are considering a shock bid for Southampton’s highly rated young defender Nathaniel Clyne, as reported by the Daily Star.

Clyne has been an integral part of a Southampton side that have climbed to the top of the Premier League to the surprise of fans and pundits alike.

The Saints were tipped for relegation after a huge summer exodus, with Man Utd having benefited after capturing Luke Shaw for £30 million.

They now go into their games against Man Utd on Monday with the potential back to nine points away from top spot in the league.

Man Utd boss Louis van Gaal has been granted a massive summer war chest of £200 million, significantly more even than the huge outlay that had this summer.

Van Gaal is now expected to put aside £25 million with the hope of bringing England international Clyne to Old Trafford.

Man Utd will likely spend more than last year’s £150 million this summer.

Spurs Given Boost In £20m Chase For PL Rival Star – reports

Tottenham Hotspur have been given a gigantic boost in their chase for Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez, after it was revealed that Ronald Koeman is willing to do business with the north London club, as reported by the Daily Express.

Rodriguez has been out of action since the end of last season, suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

This has given new Southampton signing Graziano Pelle the opportunity to impress since his summer move.

Pelle has taken the chance, and has emerged as one of the more impressive additions to the Premier League, scoring six goals in the new campaign.

Rodriguez would therefore come back to a side that he would have to battle his way back in to.

Therefore, Mauricio Pochettino might have the opportunity to add his former charge in January for around £20 million.

This would come as a huge boost, with the north London club struggling in front of goal and suffering as a result.

Spurs Boss Insists Goalscoring Ace Is Not For Sale

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that young striker Harry Kane is not for sale, after the England Under 21 international was linked with a switch to Southampton, as reported by the Daily Star.

Ronald Koeman’s side have been resurgent in the Premier League this season, despite initial doubts about the club’s ability to perform in the league after their mass summer exodus.

They have proven the doubters wrong, demonstrating their ability to play towards the top of the Premier League.

However, Pochettino has denied any potential for Kane to make the move to St. Mary’s in January, having seen his young charge score a hat trick in the Europa League last week.

Kane then infamously went in net for the north London club after Hugo Lloris departed the field of play, failing to keep out a simple shot.

The Saints are keen on his goalscoring prowess, however, but Pochettino is not willing to consider a sale.

He said: “Harry is an important player for us. It’s sure that Harry will stay with us for a long time.”
