PL Rivals To Offer £15M Star Route Out Of Man Utd Nightmare – reports

Manchester United’s Ashley Young has a series of Premier League sides fighting for his signature, with all of Aston Villa, Southampton and Sunderland keen on giving Young a route out of his Old Trafford nightmare, as reported by the Daily Express.

The wing wizard has been declared surplus to requirements under Louis van Gaal, who has no place for the former Villa man in his preferred formations.

Since the first three games of the new season, Young has not featured for Man Utd.

Even then, Young was used out of position at wing back, a defensive role that does not suit his game style.

With the 29 year old’s contract set to expire in 2016, the England international could secure a move in the near future for a cut price fee, with Man Utd likely not keen on losing him for free.

This benefits the clubs chasing him, who would almost certainly not be willing to pay the significant £15 million fee that Man Utd paid for him in 2011.

Ex-Spurs Hero Hints At January Move For PL Rival Star

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton star Chris Perry has suggested that the White Hart Lane club could make a January move for their often linked target Jay Rodriguez, as reported by the Daily Express.

Perry had a 19 year professional career, encompassing time at both clubs, and feels as though Tottenham’s current forward options are not up to scratch when it comes to suiting Mauricio Pochettino’s preferred formation and playing style.

He particularly panned Emmanuel Adebayor, suggesting that he did not have the mobility required to fit into Pochettino’s side.

Perry said: “[Adebayor] doesn’t look particularly mobile and he struggles to play as a lone frontman and unfortunately that’s the way Mauricio Pochettino likes to play. I don’t think he has got the desire to close centre-backs down and run the channels.

“They need someone more mobile and I know they were linked with Jay Rodriguez in the summer and it will be interesting, if he gets fit at Southampton, whether they go back in for him. I know Pochettino likes him as a player.

“I think Harry Kane has done well in little cameo appearances but I don’t think he’s quite ready to start and lead the line just yet.”

With Southampton flying high, Rodriguez’s long term injury could threaten his place in the south coast club’s first team after he recovers.

Ronald Koeman has led the St Mary’s club exceptionally since the start of the season, despite significant suggestions that they would suffer relegation.

With striker Graziano Pelle impressing particularly since the season kicked off, Koeman has good options available to him up front.

£8M Rated 25-Year-Old Chelsea Loan Ranger Says Club Weren’t Honest With Him

Chelsea’s on loan star Ryan Bertrand has criticised the club, saying that they were not honest with him in recent weeks, as reported by the Daily Express.

Bertrand joined Southampton during the summer months, and has been in good form for the south coast club as they’ve put together a run of results that have belied pre season expectations.

An exodus of players during the transfer window saw them tipped as likely relegation candidates, but new boss Ronald Koeman has led them to relative success since the new season began.

Bertrand is not happy, however, and believes that he has been deceived by Chelsea.

He said: “The situation became clear to me before I went on loan to Aston Villa.

“I was getting those 15, 20, 25, 30-plus games a season, until I hit a stumbling block.

“That’s when the alarm bells rang. Before that, I had a chance to move from the club, but I was advised that I didn’t need to do that.

“It all unravelled in front of my eyes, and certain things didn’t make sense in terms of what certain people had said to me. All I ask for is honesty, and I didn’t get that.”

His comments might mean that the west London club aren’t happy with him, and with Bertrand on his seventh loan spell away from the club, he might find that his future no longer involves Chelsea.

Southampton are thought to be able to capture Bertrand for a fee of around £8 million, and he might need a permanent move away, given his comments.
