Arsenal And Liverpool Keen On 2 Time PL Winner For Bargain £5m – reports

Arsenal and Liverpool could take advantage of James Milner’s worrying contract situation to snap up the experienced England international for as little as £5 million in January, as reported by the Daily Star.

Milner’s contract expires at the end of the season, and there is little indication that the former Leeds United star is willing to renew his contract with the Premier League champions.

Despite playing a useful role for the Etihad Stadium club, he has never imposed himself consistently on the first team, and he is willing to move on to other opportunities.

Along with Arsenal and Liverpool, Merseyside rivals Everton are also keen on bringing the midfield machine in.

With his contract situation unfolding, City are now considering letting him go for as little as £5 million in January, despite valuing him at £15 million.

He is waiting to see how many times he is used this season before deciding whether to sign a new deal or not.

Everton Boss Remains Interested In 25-Year-Old Man Utd Dynamo

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has declared that he and the club remain interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley, despite a failed move for the player towards the end of the summer transfer window, as reported by the Daily Star.

Cleverley ultimately made a loan move to Aston Villa, where he will work under former Man Utd midfield great Roy Keane.

Martinez was told that the player was not available on a loan basis, despite what ultimately happened on deadline day as he made the move to the Midlands.

The Everton boss has speculated that the fact that his side are now competitors to Man Utd means that they were unwilling to sanction a deal which saw him move to Goodison Park.

Cleverley’s contract with the Old Trafford club expires at the end of the season, and with little indication that it is going to be renewed at any point soon, Martinez remains interested in his signature.

He said: “Our information was that the player wasn’t available on loan full stop. It’s the parent club that makes that decision.

“Maybe they just didn’t want to send a player on loan to a club that is going to be challenging for things and finished above them last season, I don’t know.

“But I will always be interested in Tom in terms of the experiences that I had with him. That will never change. I know the player inside-out but ten months in football is an eternity. Anything could happen in that time.”

Man Utd Deadline Day Loanee Says His Agent Did Not Act “Responsibly”

Manchester United’s deadline day loan departure Tom Cleverley has hit out at his agent, saying that the man in charge of his career did not act responsibly, with the England international seeing a mooted loan move to Aston Villa almost fall through at the last hurdle, as reported by The Metro.

Both Everton and Aston Villa were reported to be interested in the midfielder, with the Goodison Park club also making a move for his signature.

With the player keen to move away from Old Trafford to reestablish himself, having come under considerable criticism for his displays for the Manchester club, Cleverley was clearly concerned that his move to Villa was on the cusp of collapse.

His agent has become the target of his scorn, suggesting that he was not impressed by his actions.

Cleverley said: “It was just a case of what was going to be the best deal for me and honestly it was more out of my hands than anything.

“It’s a modern-day part of football. Agents are massively involved and sometimes they don’t act as responsibly as they should do. It’s a tough one, it was a crazy day.”

Paul Lambert’s Aston Villa have remained unbeaten in the opening three ties of the Premier League season after acquiring experienced talent to go along some of their highly rated young prospects.
