Wonderkid Could Return To Liverpool In January

Derby County manager Steve McClaren is fearful that the sensational form of Liverpool loanee Jordon Ibe in the Championship this season could see him return to Anfield before the end of his loan spell.

The talented forwards has been integral as Derby have pushed towards the top half of the second tier of English football.

This has caused Brendan Rodgers to reconsider Ibe’s position in his squad over the rest of the season.

The Reds have struggled so far, and their 2-2 draw with Leicester City this week spoke for the same issues they have suffered all season.

One area they have been weak in is in attacking positions, and Ibe could alter that if he was to return.

McClaren has admitted that he would have no control over the situation if Rodgers chose to bring Ibe back to Merseyside, but believes Derby offer the young star the best place for him to continue his development.

He said: “Jordon is on a youth loan, so we knew there was always a risk of that happening.

“The boy is developing and getting better. Liverpool can see that, we can see that.

“My advice is keep him here and develop him even more.”
