Arsenal and Chelsea are locked in a battle to capture the 15 year old wonderkid goalkeeper Mile Svilar, with fellow Premier League side Manchester United also said to be interested in his signature, as reported by the Daily Star.
Svilar is the son of former Yugoslavia keeper Ratko Svilar, and is considered to be a talented young prospect.
Despite the fact that Ratko confirmed to the Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad that the player is on the cusp of signing professional terms with Anderlecht, where he has begun his career, there are suggestions that he could yet make a move to one of the Premier League giants.
Ratko himself has said that all three of the English sides mentioned in this article have expressed an interest, with Arsenal specifically hoping to bring him in for a trial.
“We already have an agreement with Anderlecht, even though he can’t sign a contract until his 16th birthday.
“Nowhere would be better for him, he is beautifully guided. From his 20th birthday, we’ll see. It’s not just talent and luck, it is also hard work.”
Given Ratko’s successes, Svilar should be something of a prospect, and his father has also suggested as much.
“But in any case Mile has the same style of goalkeeping and also my speed.”
