Spanish news sources suggest that Chelsea have tried to convince Simons’ family that a move to west London would be to his benefit, with the club offering to rehouse the Dutch youngster and his family.
Barcelona have, it seems, managed to convince his parents that his future would be best served by staying with the Catalan giants, and the move to Chelsea seems to be off.
The La Liga side have a sensational record for producing top talents that have made significant impacts around the world, with Lionel Messi, considered by many to be one of the best players of all time, probably the most famous example.
