New teammate: Ex-Chelsea Star More Of A Winner Than Liverpool’s Balotelli

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez has declared that new AC Milan loanee Fernando Torres is a more useful player than the departed Mario Balotelli, who left the Italian giants to join Liverpool for a fee in the region of £16 million, as reported by Goal.com.

Lopez moved to the Italian side from Real this summer, despite impressive performances for the Spanish giants, and spoke about how Torres has shown that he has more about his game and more capacity to be a winner than the much lauded Balotelli.

He said: “[Torres is] a great signing. We’re talking about a player who has done amazing things, who has experience, speed, and will be important.

“Balotelli? Torres will be more useful as he has shown the characteristics needed to win.”

Torres has joined Milan on a two season loan after the arrivals of Diego Costa and Didier Drogba at Chelsea.

With it becoming increasingly obvious that Torres would be third choice, the Spanish striker decided to move on, putting an end to a difficult time at Stamford Bridge, where he failed to reach the same heights as he did during his time at Liverpool.
