Man Utd And Arsenal Boost As £5m Defender Handed Contract Ultimatum – reports

Manchester United and Arsenal have both been handed a huge boost in their chase for West Ham United defender Winston Reid, with the east London club giving him an ultimatum over signing a new contract, as reported by The Times.

The defender now has until the middle of January to agree terms over a new contract, or the club will be forced to sell him to one of his many suitors.

Reid has already been offered a new contract by the Hammers, worth a staggering £60,000 a week, but the New Zealand star has held out on putting pen to paper.

As a result, the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal have both been casting covetous glances at the 26 year old, with the knowledge that they could capture him for as little as £5 million.

Reid’s deal expires in the summer, and as a result, West Ham need to either agree a new deal or lose him for nothing.

They therefore will sell him if he does not agree to the new contract.

Arsenal And Liverpool Blow In Hunt For PL Star – reports

West Ham United are expected to confirm a new contract for central defender Winston Reid in the coming weeks, as reported by fichajes.net.

This will deal a blow to Arsenal and Liverpool, who had been hunting the defender in recent months in an attempt to shore up their respective leaky backlines.

The Hammers have had an exceptional start to the new season in the Premier League, with Sam Allardyce leading them to a surprise place in the top four at this early juncture, and Reid is clearly keen to stay with his current side.

As a result, he is expected to sign a new contract that will run until the 30 June 2019, for four years.

Reid will also become one of the highest paid players in West Ham’s side.

While Reid was impressed by the interest from the two Premier League giants, he has instead decided to stay with the east London side.

Arsenal & Liverpool Boost In Chase For PL Rival Brute – reports

Arsenal and Liverpool have been handed a boost in their chase for West Ham United defender Winston Reid, after it was revealed that the east London club are not willing to increase their contract offer to the New Zealand international, as reported by the Daily Express.

Reid’s contract with the Hammers is set to expire at the end of the current season, and there is significant interest in him from elsewhere in the Premier League.

Arsenal and Liverpool are two of several teams who hold an interest in him, with Manchester United also thought to be somewhat keen on the star.

However, reports last week suggested that Liverpool would be Reid’s preferred destination.

A move for Reid could be a possibility in January, although West Ham are insistent that they will not lose the player for cheap, whether he signs a new deal or not.

Reid will also have to accept the current contract offer, as the Hammers see it as exceptionally competitive, without any room for revisions.
