Arsenal are set to begin discussions with German international star Sami Khedira over a bosman move at the end of the season, as reported by the Daily Express.

The Real Madrid star’s contract with the Spanish giants is set to expire at the end of the campaign, and the Gunners are keen on bringing him in to the club.

Khedira has already refused to sign a new deal to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, and it looks as though he will depart when the deal expires.

According to reports in Spain, the north London club are particularly keen to secure his signature when he becomes a free agent.

With Khedira free to open discussions with other clubs as soon as January, Arsenal are one of the sides most interested in making a move for him.

Having been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium in the summer, Khedira has been underused since by Carlo Ancelotti, and Arsenal would seem an ideal destination for the star.

The German international has turned down a new contract from the Spanish giants, and it seems as though he is set to depart. Real are now willing to cash in on the player, lest they lose him on a free transfer next summer when his contract expires.

Arsenal are said to be paying the player £140,000 a week to get him to join the club, with wages having been an issue this summer when discussing a transfer.

This comes as part of Wenger’s £30 million transfer budget for January.
