Arsenal £42.5M Record Breaker Wants To Quit Club – reports

Arsenal’s £42.5M record breaking signing Mesut Ozil is reportedly keen to depart the north London club in the January transfer window, as reported by the Daily Star.

Reports are suggesting that the German international wants to leave in the winter, and that Arsene Wenger’s side are happy to sell the midfield misfit.

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich were reportedly interested in the attacking midfielder during the summer, and are considering making another bid for the player, said to be worth in the region of £30 million.

Ozil is reportedly interested in leaving after being repeatedly used out wide by the French manager.

He prefers to play behind the striker, where he can be a more effective creative force, but Wenger has rarely granted him the opportunity to exert himself there.

Ozil might even have played his last game for the Gunners, should a January move go through – he is currently sidelined for three months with a knee injury.

Arsenal Willing To Part With Record Breaker As Bayern Prep £30M Move – reports

Arsenal are willing to part with their record breaking signing Mesut Ozil in January, and this has led to Bayern Munich, the German champions, lining up a £30 million bid for the player, as reported by the Daily Express.

Ozil has failed to settle entirely since making the move to Arsenal from Real Madrid.

The move was completed on deadline day in August of 2013, with Arsene Wenger belying his usual nature to spend a staggering £42.5 million on the World Cup winner.

His displays since the start of the season have been increasingly disappointing, and he has come under criticism as a result.

There were suggestions that Bayern were chasing Ozil in the summer, but a bid for him was turned down by the Gunners.

With Arsenal now thought to be willing to part with the German international midfielder, Bayern are believed to be lining up a fresh £30 million bid to bring him to the Allianz Arena.

Boss: Injured Arsenal Star Was Still Going To Train

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Mesut Ozil was going to take part in training with the German national side, despite the player then finding out that he had torn his knee ligaments after visiting the hospital, as reported by the Daily Star.

The midfield maestro has been ruled out for as many as three months after initially linking up with the German squad, who won the World Cup in Brazil this summer.

Ozil actually suffered the slight tear during the clash with Chelsea at the weekend, which the Gunners lost to their London rivals 2-0.

The World Cup winner stayed on the pitch, playing through the pain, but eventually reported the problem to Arsenal’s medical staff on the day.

After he linked up with his national side, the German Football Federation chose to send him to Munich to get scans, despite Ozil being willing to train.

It was then revealed that he had suffered his injury.

Wenger said: “When he arrived with the German national team, they didn’t think it was a lot at the start.

“He was supposed to practice on Wednesday but, in the end, he said that wasn’t possible for him.

“Then he had a scan and it was bad news. We have our own specialist giving us his opinion after reading the scan and examining Mesut.

“We will follow our own recommendations.”
