Breakthrough World Cup Sensation Joins Arsenal On Pre-Season Tour

Joel Campbell has finally joined up with the rest of the Arsenal squad to take part in pre-season training ahead of the new year, as reported by the Express and pictured on Arsenal’s Twitter account.

Campbell starred heavily in Costa Rica’s successful World Cup campaign, which saw the central American side emerge from an expected group of death. They beat both Uruguay and Italy in the process.

The 22-year-old is now seemingly on the cusp of involvement at the north London side this season as a result of his displays.

He has since joined Arsenal in Austria for their pre-season tour, having taken a break following his involvement at the World Cup.

It has been a difficult few seasons for Campbell, who was denied a work permit upon arriving in England. A series of loan spells followed before he received one in June 2013. He also spent last season on loan at Olympiacos, where he famously scored against Man Utd.

This would represent Campbell’s first proper involvement with Arsenal.

Update On Arsenal Striking Target’s Availability And Interest In Arsenal Startlet

AC Milan have denied that Mario Balotelli is available for transfer this summer, saying that all of the suggestions that he wants to leave are simply the result of newspaper speculation, as reported by Italian newspaper La Gazetta dello Sport.

Adriano Galliani has said that the Italian international has never, in fact, asked to leave the San Siro this summer, despite constant speculation that both the striker and his club want him to leave the Italian giants this summer.

Galliani has also denied that AC Milan are specifically interested in Joel Campbell as well, despite speculation in Tuttosport that the club are seeking to sign him through a player plus cash deal for Mario Balotelli, valuing Balotelli at around £8 million cash.

Galliani said: “Balotelli has never asked to be sold.

“He will 100% stay at Milan, but 99% of the newspapers say he will go.”

While this will not end the speculation on Arsenal’s end that they might be interested in the controversial striker joining the club, it does suggest that AC Milan are not particularly interested in selling their talismanic hitman.
