Arsenal In Talks For £15m Ace And Slovakian Midfield Maestro – reports

Arsenal are considering a double January move for Italy based duo Mattia Destro and Marek Hamsik in January, if they can offload enough of their unwanted stars to fund the move.

Striking duo Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski have been regularly linked with moves away from the Emirates Stadium in January.

Interest in the pair has increased, and as a result, the Gunners could use the duo’s transfer fees to bring in the highly talented Serie A pair, according to the Metro.

The north London club have apparently already opened talks with Roma for Destro ahead of a possible move.

However, capturing Hamsik from Napoli will likely prove far more difficult.

To their benefit, however, Hamsik has been dropped by Napoli boss Rafael Benitez, and this could make negotiations far easier.

Arsenal do have to push through moves for both Podolski and Campbell to fund the transfers, with most of their budget set to be spent on defensive recruits.

Arsenal Forward Set For January Exit As European Giants Swoop – reports

Arsenal could lose Joel Campbell in January, after it was revealed that Inter Milan and Fiorentina are set to target the Costa Rican international, as reported by the Daily Express.

The two Italian sides are in trouble in the attacking departments of the pitch.

A series of injuries at both clubs have made it difficult for them to put together strong sides.

As a result, they are looking to Premier League side Arsenal to reinforce their 11.

While Fiorentina are leading the chase for Stevan Jovetic at Manchester City, the clubs are also targeting Joel Campbell as an alternative.

Campbell has been barely used since the start of the new season, despite manager Arsene Wenger giving him assurances that his excellent displays at the World Cup would give him an opportunity at the north London club.

The Costa Rican star is used to playing far more football during the domestic season, having spent the last few years out on loan.

Agent Reveals 22-Year-Old Arsenal Starlet Wanted Out This Summer

The agent of Joel Campbell has revealed that the 22 year old Arsenal starlet wanted to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer after shining for Costa Rica at the summer’s World Cup, as reported by the Daily Express.

There were considerable links in English newspapers suggesting that Campbell was on the cusp of moving away from north London this summer, having failed to make an impact since joining the club several years ago as a youngster.

The club he was most heavily linked to was Benfica, who looked to capitalise on Arsene Wenger’s doubts and secure a season long loan spell.

His agent, Joaquim Bata, has revealed that Fiorentina were the only side to make a formal bid for the Costa Rican international this summer, although AC Milan also made an enquiry.

He said: “I received many phone calls from Italy.

“Joel really likes Milan and Roma, so he wanted a call from either of those two clubs. There was contact with the Rossoneri, while the Giallorossi thought of him as an alternative to Destro in case of a sale.

“The only club that really made an offer in Italy was Fiorentina, even if at the end of the day they didn’t agree terms.”

Campbell starred for Olympiacos while on loan at the Greek side last season, scoring a famous goal against Manchester United in the Champions League.
