Goalscoring Ace Wants Liverpool Switch In January – reports

Divock Origi wants to move to Liverpool in January, despite initially agreeing to remain at his former club for the length of the season, as reported by the Daily Star.

The Belgian international had a sensational World Cup in Brazil, and as a result, the Reds agreed to sign him from Lille for £10 million.

Part of the agreement, however, required Origi to stay on loan at the French side for the entire season, in the hope of aiding his development at a club where he would be likely to play consistent first team football going forward.

Origi is still only 19 years old, and there were fears that he would not get enough opportunities at Liverpool.

However, Liverpool have struggled since the start of the season, with the club struggling to replace Luis Suarez.

Origi now admits that he would love to move to his new club in January, but only if Lille are willing to let him leave.

He said: “It is not me who makes the decisions but if the club choose to let me go in January I would go, I would like to joinLiverpool then.

“I said that I would stay for the whole season and I wish to remain honourable in that, of course, but if there was a decision by the clubs, I would not say that I would not like to go to Liverpool in January.

“I would love to move to Liverpool sooner rather than later.

“I am here at Lille, its fine, they are a good club and they have helped me.

“I can’t wait to be playing in the Premier League because I can now see that it will suit me better. I think there are good things waiting for me with Liverpool.”

Everton Ace Believes He Has Edge On Liverpool Wonderkid

Everton shot stopper Tim Howard has stated that he thinks he already has a personal edge over current Lille striker Divock Origi, as reported by the Daily Star.

Origi signed for Liverpool during the summer after a successful World Cup with the Belgian national side, but he was immediately loaned back to Lille for the season after his transfer was completed.

Howard and Origi have already faced off, with the American goalkeeper responsible for a string of excellent saves that stopped the striker from converting against him at the competition in Brazil.

Howard made seven saves from the £10 million man in the clash, before ultimately conceding to Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne, giving Belgium a 2-1 win.

However, with Howard once again set to face off against Origi in the Europa League tonight, he is hopeful that the player will remember his struggles against him in the summer.

Howard said: “The psychological effect is probably more so for strikers.

“It’s easier for them when maybe they’ve had success before. For goalkeepers it’s just another day and you have to go again.

“I think I know what he likes to do but it doesn’t mean I’m always capable of stopping it.

“But sure he’s a good player, I had a little bit of success against him and hopefully I can do it again but we’ll see.”

Liverpool Could Have £10M Striker In January – reports

Liverpool could bolster their attacking options in January by recalling Divock Origi from his loan spell at Lille, as reported by the Daily Star.

The Belgian international was signed by Liverpool shortly after his exertions at the World Cup in Brazil, with the Anfield club paying Lille £10 million to buy him on a permanent basis.

However, as part of the agreement they had to accept a loan move for Origi from his former club, with the intention that the striker would only properly join the Reds at the end of the current season.

This was intended to give Origi more playing time.

However, with Liverpool struggling for goals since the start of the season, and Origi on good form, there have been questions about whether it would be sensible to bring him back.

Reports now suggest that Origi could move back to Merseyside in January if Liverpool, Lille and Origi all agree that a termination of his loan makes the most sense.
