Chelsea’s on loan star Ryan Bertrand has criticised the club, saying that they were not honest with him in recent weeks, as reported by the Daily Express.
Bertrand joined Southampton during the summer months, and has been in good form for the south coast club as they’ve put together a run of results that have belied pre season expectations.
An exodus of players during the transfer window saw them tipped as likely relegation candidates, but new boss Ronald Koeman has led them to relative success since the new season began.
Bertrand is not happy, however, and believes that he has been deceived by Chelsea.
“That’s when the alarm bells rang. Before that, I had a chance to move from the club, but I was advised that I didn’t need to do that.
His comments might mean that the west London club aren’t happy with him, and with Bertrand on his seventh loan spell away from the club, he might find that his future no longer involves Chelsea.
Southampton are thought to be able to capture Bertrand for a fee of around £8 million, and he might need a permanent move away, given his comments.
