Liverpool And Stoke Blow As £11m Target Prefers Switch To Giants – reports

Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their chase for Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri, with the news that the talented Swiss international prefers a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan this month, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The Reds have been chasing Shaqiri since the summer, when a series of moves for him were blocked by Bayern’s hierarchy and manager Pep Guardiola.

However, the player remains unsettled at the Bundesliga leaders, having played very infrequently since the start of the season.

He has reportedly lost faith in Guardiola to play him with any regularity, and wants a move away from the club desperately.

Liverpool were hopeful of taking advantage of that with a bid of around £11 million, but Inter seem to have beaten them to the punch with a loan move.

Stoke City were also keen on a move, and their assistant manager yesterday confirmed their interest to the press.

Liverpool To Make Shock Signing Of Man Utd Hero – reports

Liverpool could be about to make one of the most surprising signings of the January transfer window, after it was revealed that they have been offered Nemanja Vidic by Inter Milan, as reported by The Metro.

The Italian giants are keen on capturing Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva this month, and are exploring all possible options regarding a transfer.

Vidic has fallen out of favour at Inter after joining them in the summer, and Roberto Mancini, former Manchester City manager, is thought to be particularly keen on getting rid of him.

Reports in Italy are now suggesting that Vidic could be set for a move to Man Utd’s fierce rivals Liverpool.

This would be part of a swap deal to take Lucas to the San Siro this month.

The Serie A side have a lack of funds to complete key transfer deals during the window, and Vidic is expected to be used as a possible make weight in the deal.

Liverpool Struggle To Secure January Switch For £10m Ace – reports

Liverpool are struggling to push through Divock Origi’s return from Lille this month, having signed him in the summer and sent him out on loan to the Ligue 1 side, as reported by The Guardian.

Origi impressed at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, scoring a goal on his international debut for Belgium.

His fine performances on the world stage prompted Brendan Rodgers to take a closer interest in him, and a deal was ultimately agreed between the Anfield club and Lille to sign him on a permanent basis.

However, as part of that agreement, the Reds loaned Origi back to Lille for this season.

With their strikers struggling, Rodgers and the club have been exploring the option of bringing him back, including by paying Lille additional money to release Origi early.

The French club are resisting the offer, however, and Liverpool might struggle to bring him to Anfield during the winter window as a result.
