Liverpool Struggle To Secure January Switch For £10m Ace – reports

Liverpool are struggling to push through Divock Origi’s return from Lille this month, having signed him in the summer and sent him out on loan to the Ligue 1 side, as reported by The Guardian.

Origi impressed at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, scoring a goal on his international debut for Belgium.

His fine performances on the world stage prompted Brendan Rodgers to take a closer interest in him, and a deal was ultimately agreed between the Anfield club and Lille to sign him on a permanent basis.

However, as part of that agreement, the Reds loaned Origi back to Lille for this season.

With their strikers struggling, Rodgers and the club have been exploring the option of bringing him back, including by paying Lille additional money to release Origi early.

The French club are resisting the offer, however, and Liverpool might struggle to bring him to Anfield during the winter window as a result.
