Arsenal Close In On Capture Of £2.5m Wonderkid

Arsenal are nearing in on the capture of Polish wonderkid Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw, after his agent told The Guardian that they are on the cusp of agreeing a move in the near future.

Reports suggested that the move was proving difficult to finalise, with the two clubs disagreeing on price – Legia want a fee closer to £2.5 million, while Arsenal have offered £1.6 million for the midfielder.

However, assuming that issue is solved, there seems to be little in the way of barrier to Bielik joining the Emirates Stadium club.

The young star visited Arsenal’s training ground, and despite interest from Italian giants Roma, Bielik has his heart set on moving to the north London side.

Despite only turning 17 a week ago, Bielik has already made seven appearances for Legia’s first team.

He is considered to be a defensive midfielder, and stands at 6ft 2in already, at his young age.

“We are speaking and hopefully we will find a solution,” his agent Cezary Kucharski said.

Bielik added: “I’ve made a decision [to join Arsenal] and I’m not going to change it.

“I am looking forward to an agreement between the heads of the clubs.

“I realise that the negotiations may take some time. I am, however, confident it will happen soon.”

Another PL Side Enter Race For Arsenal Forward – reports

Hull City have entered the fray to sign Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo this month, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen to see Sanogo move to a Premier League side during the winter window, despite French side Bordeaux being the club most keen on bringing him in.

In part, it must be assumed that this is so Wenger can guarantee his young striker gets the required Premier League experience, aiding in his transition to the English game, something that he has struggled with since joining the Gunners on a free transfer.

Aside from Hull, another Premier League team thought to be interested in signing Sanogo are Alan Pardew’s new club, Crystal Palace.

The Eagles are lacking firepower, and Sanogo would undoubtedly get plenty of action there.

With a trio of reasonable options on the table for Sanogo, it will be interesting to see which club he chooses to spend the rest of the season with.

Done Deal: Arsenal Agree Starlet Stopper Loan Deal

Arsenal have agreed to loan young goalkeeper Matt Macey to Accrington Stanley for a month, as reported by the club’s official Twitter account.

The 20 year old plays regularly for the club’s Under 21 side, making seven appearances for the team, which is managed by Steve Gatting this season.

This follows on from a successful campaign last time out, which saw him make 19 appearances.

With the series of injuries suffered by Arsenal goalkeepers Wojciech Sczcesny and David Ospina recently, Macey was involved in the first team only recently.

He had a place on the bench, playing understudy to Emiliano Martinez as the Gunners won against both West Bromwich Albion and Southampton, away and at home respectively.

Arsenal’s hope is that Macey will play considerable first team football for Stanley during his one month loan spell at the Crown Ground, and will go on to pick up vital experience as a result of the loan deal.
