Another Arsenal Striker Set To Leave Club

Arsenal forward Yaya Sanogo is set to leave the Emirates Stadium on loan, joining French side Bordeaux until the end of the season, as reported by the Daily Star.

Arsene Wenger has sanctioned the deal, because he wants Sanogo to play more first team football before returning to north London ahead of next season.

Sanogo has found his opportunities limited since moving to the Gunners, and this season there are more players ahead of him in the pecking order.

Olivier Giroud was his only competition last season, and he therefore played quite a bit of football, despite not scoring with any regularity.

However, this year, the addition of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck means that there are potentially three players keeping him out of the first team.

The Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud confirmed on the radio that the deal is set to go through in the very near future.

He told Soir de Foot radio: “We are working on the arrival of Sanogo. He wants to come to us, it’s a certainty.

“The goal is to have him for Monaco [on Sunday].

“We asked for Arsenal keep us informed. They had given me as a response date of Tuesday or Wednesday. I explained that I prefer Tuesday.”
