Arsenal Hoping To Pip Man Utd To Teenage Wonderkid – reports

Arsenal are set to pip Manchester United to the signature of Exeter City’s young star Ethan Ampadu.

The Daily Star are reporting that the 14 year old academy player is set to make a switch to the north London club.

Ampadu already has a connection with the Gunners, with his father Kwame coaching at the club’s Hale End academy.

The wonderkid has a clear pedigree, and has been called up to the Wales Under-16s squad in the past.

He also played a role during Wales’ 1-0 Victory Shield win against England last week.

It seems as though Arsenal’s recent reputation for youth development may have convinced Ampadu to move to the Gunners, with Man Utd having not seen much success recently in bringing players through from their academy.

However, they have begun to integrate more young stars under boss Louis van Gaal, despite significant summer outlay, with the likes of James Wilson featuring frequently.
