FA Confirms Investigation Into Leeds Defender’s Alleged Racist Abuse

The Football Association has confirmed that it is set to investigate the alleged incident of racism on the part of Guiseppe Bellusci in Leeds United’s clash with Norwich City last night.

Cameron Jerome purports to have been on the receiving end of the abuse from the Italian defender, and complained to referee Mark Clattenburg during the first half about it.

Clattenburg then spoke to both managers about what had occurred, and is now set to submit a report to the FA about the incident last night.

Jerome was soon booked for a challenge on Bellusci, but any further clashes between the two ended there as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw.

An FA spokesman said: “I can confirm we are investigating this allegation.”

Leeds’s equaliser was earned shortly after Norwich went ahead, with Brazilian playmaker Adryan providing his first assist on his first start, giving Souleymane Doukara a platform on which to strike and earn the Elland Road side a point.
