Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has handed the north London club a scare after being rushed to a hospital in Munich to have an MRI scan on his knee, as reported by the Daily Star.
The German international midfielder joined the Gunners last summer for a record breaking £42.5 million – the highest fee that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ever paid for a player.
However, he has never reached the heights that were expected of him, and his performance against Chelsea at the weekend received significant criticism.
He did, however, link up with the World Cup winners for the upcoming international break.
It is in preparation for their fixtures in the coming weeks that Ozil has been hit by the problem, and he has handed the Gunners a scare by travelling to Munich to get his knee checked out.
It remains to be seen whether the damage is, in any way, significant.
