Arsenal have waded into the battle for the £18 million rated Chelsea target Anderson Talisca, who has impressed considerably since joining Benfica in the summer, as reported by the Daily Star.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has repeatedly spoken about the talent that Talisca possesses, and has referred to the fact that, were it not for work permit issues, he would have likely made a move to a more elite club during pre season.

Mourinho has implied his own interest in the attacking midfielder.

The west London club are now apparently set to face competition from Arsenal, however, with the Gunners keen on the 20 year old.

Talisca has scored a sensational six goals in his seven games thus far this season for Benfica in the league, showing his absolute quality.

In fact, Talisca has been instrumental as the Estadio de Luz side have surged to the top of the still young Primeira Liga.

Despite moving to Benfica for only £3 million in the summer, it might take meeting his £18 million release clause if Arsenal want to buy Talisca.
