Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca has declared that he is not interested in leaving the Portuguese side in the January transfer window.
This will come as a blow to both Arsenal and Chelsea, who have been tracking the player since his move to the Portuguese giants in the summer transfer window.
The former Bahia player moved to them due to work permit issues which did not allow him to move to a Premier League side.
The 20 year old’s exceptional displays for Benfica have highlighted his excellent talent, and he has since been called up to the Brazilian national side as a result.
Talisca has scored an incredible eight goals in 14 games for Benfica since the summer, and has attracted a host of suitors.
Two of these are Arsenal and Chelsea, with the likes of Liverpool also chasing a possible move.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has even previously discussed the possibility of a transfer.
However, Talisca has now told Portuguese newspaper A Bola that he is not keen on moving any time soon.
He said: “This is the right club for me to continue to develop.
“Here the football is different to Brazil and a bit of adaptation is needed. I’m getting better every day.”
Chelsea hero Oscar has rated his international teammate Anderson Talisca, who the Blues have been tracking for an extended period of time, as possibly replicating the exploits of Brazil legend Rivaldo, as reported by the Daily Star.
Talisca has emerged as one of the most highly rated prospects in Europe today after a sensational start to the season for Benfica.
He was brought to the Portuguese giants in the summer as a result of work experience issues.
While he had been tracked by a series of Premier League sides, they were unable to sign him, with Jose Mourinho previously admitting that they were aware of him for an extended period of time.
Arsenal and Liverpool have also been tracking him, with the hope of making a move in the future.
Possible future teammate Oscar has been impressed with Talisca over the international break, and compared him to the former Barcelona man.
He said: “Talisca is tall and left-footed like Rivaldo, so comparisons are normal.
“I haven’t followed him much at Benfica, but he has great quality. We are happy that he is with our group.”
Manchester United have sent scouts to watch Benfica wonderkid Anderson Talisca, who has recently been called up to the Brazilian national side, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
Fans of the club will have to be hopeful that, if they do sign Talisca, he will impress more than the last Brazilian Anderson they had.
That midfielder is tipped to be on his way out of Old Trafford in January, whereas Talisca could be on his way in.
The Brazilian has impressed since the start of the season, when he joined Benfica due to work permit problems.
He is being tipped as a major star of the future, and could soon move to the Premier League, having been involved in the most rcent Brazil squad.
Chelsea were the first side said to be chasing him, but Man Utd have now seemingly joined the race that also includes Arsenal and Liverpool.
Man Utd scouted him during their Champions League clash with Monaco, when they won, and are set to watch him on Tuesday for Brazil.
Talisca has scored nine in 10 this season.
