Arsenal And Liverpool Set For Disappointment Over 27-Year-Old Speedster – Reports

Arsenal, Liverpool and fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur could face disappointment in their chase for Lazio star Antonio Candreva after the Italian club looked to improve their chances of keeping the Italy international in Serie A, as reported by the Daily Star.

All three sides were suggested to be interested in signing him during the summer, but a move to bring him to England failed to be pushed through.

The 27-year-old, who is regarded as a winger possessing considerable pace, could see further interest in him in January. Should the three English sides progress in European competition, they would be able to offer him football at the highest level, especially Liverpool and Arsenal who are set to feature in the Champions League.

As a result, Lazio are hoping to stop the interest before it can truly begin by nearly doubling Candreva’s wages to £1.6 million per year, and securing the player to a new five year deal.

Candreva has spent time on loan with the likes of Livorno, Juventus, Parma and Cesena prior to moving to Lazio in 2012, where he has established himself as one of the top wingers in Serie A.
