Ferguson: New Man Utd Boss Is Right For The Job

Legendary Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has declared that Louis van Gaal is the right man for the club going forward, as he stated in his updated autobiography, set to be released over the coming days.

The former Red Devils manager is of the belief that the current players and his former charge Ryan Giggs, who is now the assistant manager, will learn from the ex-Netherlands manager.

Van Gaal was appointed at the start of the summer, but has endured a slightly mixed beginning to his reign at Old Trafford.

In bringing in Van Gaal to replace David Moyes, who led Man Utd to seventh in the Premier League last season, there was significant pre season optimism both in the press and the media.

Van Gaal has, however, been on the receiving end of some painful defeats, with the 4-0 loss against MK Dons in the League Cup the worst of the bunch.

However, Ferguson has given him a vote of confidence, saying: “Louis is what I would call a managers’ coach.

“He’s one of those committed ultra-professionals. If I had to choose one word for him it would be “formidable”.

“Football is his life. Wherever he has managed, every footballer will have learned from him. He was a good choice.”

Man Utd Boss: Chelsea Are On “Another Level”

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has declared that this weekend’s opponents Chelsea are on another level to the sort of competition that the Old Trafford club have faced thus far this season, as reported by the Daily Star.

The Red Devils stumbled to a 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Monday, ending a winning run, and Van Gaal now has to prepare his troops for a clash against the Premier League’s runaway leaders.

Jose Mourinho’s side have been the most effective side in the still young campaign, and have only dropped points against Man Utd’s city rivals, Manchester City, when they were held to a draw at the Etihad Stadium.

VanGaal said: “Now we have to play against Chelsea and in the Netherlands they say ‘that is anotherKuche’, or another ‘biscuit’.”By that I mean another level.

“You cannot compare WestBromwich Albion, which I say with great respect as it’s fantastic to play here, with the stadium and the fans.”The pitch is fantastic and West Bromwich Albion are also playing a positional game – not only long balls.

“I have great respect for West Bromwich Albion, but Chelsea are at another level and Manchester City are as well.

“We have to see if we can beat them and after the two matches I can say yes or no.”

They remain undefeated, and impressed last night against Maribor in the Champions League.

It remains to be seen if Loic Remy will be fit for the game on Sunday, but Didier Drogba could start, having scored his first goal since his Stamford Bridge return on Tuesday night.

Man Utd Boss: I Have Done It Before, We Will Catch Chelsea

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has declared that while the 10 point gap between them and Chelsea is a lot, he has the experience to lead the club to catching up with them, as reported by the Daily Star.

The Dutch manager saw the Red Devils stumble to a 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League last night, with Daley Blind rescuing a point in the last ten minutes for his side.

Van Gaal’s troops now face a difficult Chelsea challenge on Sunday, with Jose Mourinho’s side having been undefeated since the start of the season.

In fact, only one side has managed to take any points from the Blues, with Manchester City drawing with them prior to the international break.

However, Van Gaal believes the 10 point gap can be made up.

He has said that he’s done it before, and would not be surprised if he led another side to a similar success.

Van Gaal said: “Ten points is a lot. It’s possible to do it, but it will be difficult. If I say we can do it then I am arrogant, but I have done it a lot of times before.

“Chelsea and City are another level, with no disrespect to West Brom. Are we far away? We have to see if we can beat them and after those matches I can tell you ‘yes’ or ‘no’.”
