Championship Winner Refuses To Rule Himself Out Of Leeds Job

Chris Hughton has refused to rule himself out of taking the Leeds job, with the former Newcastle United and Norwich City manager referring to the task at Elland Road as a “challenge”, as reported by Adam Pope of BBC Radio Leeds.

Hughton is out of work after being sacked by Norwich towards the end of last season, but his appointment at Elland Road would represent the addition of a manager who has won the Championship before, albeit with one of the strongest sides in the division.

He is regarded as a good coach within the game, but seemed on the cusp of getting Norwich relegated before he was removed from his post. Neil Adams took over, but was also unable to save the Canaries from relegation.

Leeds are looking for a second new head coach of the season after owner Massimo Cellino terminated David Hockaday’s contract. Hockaday’s last game was a loss against Bradford City in the League Cup.
