Liverpool Skipper On FA Cup: I Want To Go ‘All The Way’

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard told the television reporter interviewing him after the third round FA Cup clash against AFC Wimbledon that he wants his side to go all the way in the competition.

Gerrard was integral as the Anfield club progressed to the fourth round of the competition, scoring both of their goals.

He scored a header in the opening stages of the clash, but saw his team pegged back in the latter part of the first half, conceding a goal from a set piece, one of Brendan Rodgers’ teams great weaknesses this season.

However, when push came to shove, Gerrard stepped up and provided the winning goal for his team.

Liverpool were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area, and he bent it past the diving Wimbledon goalkeeper to put his side back into the lead.

Gerrard is now exceptionally keen to win the trophy, with the final set to occur on his birthday in May.

He said: “It’s going to be my last time, so I want to make the most of it and go all the way.”
