£31.5M Man Utd Star Cannot Wait To Face Chelsea On Sunday

Manchester United starlet Luke Shaw has revealed that he cannot wait to face off against Chelsea on Sunday, having supported the Blues as a child, as reported by the Daily Star.

The 19 year old joined the Old Trafford club for £31.5 million this summer, making him the most expensive teenager in British football history.

However, he has struggled since moving to the Red Devils, with initial injuries playing havoc with his involvement at the start of the new campaign.

Shaw also struggled to reach his ideal fitness levels during pre-season, and was criticised by boss Louis van Gaal because of this.

The England international has, however, earned a place in the side as a result of the series of injuries suffered across the back line, and played as Man Utd stumbled to a 2-2 draw against West Brom on Monday.

He has, however, revealed that he is looking forward to facing Chelsea on Sunday.

He said: “Playing against Chelsea is a big thing in my family and among my friends because I was born around that area of London.

“I used to watch them when I was younger, which is something I’m sure people know by now.

“When I first played at Stamford Bridge with Southampton it was a bit of a surreal experience in a lot of ways because it was at a ground I’d visited as a kid.

“But playing against Chelsea with United at Old Trafford is a different proposition altogether.

“I’m really looking forward to it, especially with how big this fixture is. Everyone knows that United-Chelsea games are massive, so it’s something I’m really looking forward to.”
