Chelsea have shockingly entered the battle to sign Liverpool’s young star Raheem Sterling, entering into warfare with the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain in order to capture the highly rated wonderkid, as reported by the Daily Star.
There has been increasing speculation over Sterling’s future in recent weeks.
The 19 year old has something of a contract issue brewing with the Anfield club, with Brendan Rodgers suggesting that the player’s new deal will come with time.
Sterling has not been given a new contract since his breakout performances last season, when he suddenly developed into one of the brightest young talents in the Premier League.
While Real and PSG are supposedly keen, it will come as a blow to hear that rivals Chelsea are also keen on the England international.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is supposedly putting together a bid of £48 million for the wonderkid.
It remains to be seen if the bid comes to fruition, or whether Rodgers and Sterling can come to terms over a new deal.
