Integral Liverpool Star Gives Fitness Update

Liverpool star Adam Lallana has revealed that he is finally approaching full fitness, having played well for the Anfield club against local rivals Everton in the Merseyside derby on Saturday, as reported by the Daily Express.

The midfield maestro was one of Brendan Rodgers’s side’s best performers against the Toffees, despite the Reds having dropped two points.

Having suffered an unfortunate injury prior to the season, shortly after he signed for Liverpool from Southampton for £25 million, the player is now happy about his improving fitness levels, and feels yesterday’s display was only a sign of things to come in the future.

He said: “After every game I’m feeling more comfortable.

“I just want to keep working hard and I still feel I can improve even more, get better and put in better performances.

“I don’t want to make excuses, but I did miss pre-season. It’s a valuable part of getting the rustiness out. It’s just going to be with game time now.

“Because of the injuries we’ve had, I’ve probably played a lot more than I would have done coming back from injury.

“But it has been great – that’s what you need as a player.

“I felt great out there, fitness-wise, and it’s just disappointing we couldn’t get the three points.”

Liverpool have struggled slightly since the start of the season, and have missed the influence of Daniel Sturridge up front.

It will almost certainly be a boon to Rodgers to hear that one of his more talented players is on the cusp of returning to his previous heights after indifferent form so far.
