Leeds Utd Owner Praises Fans After Yorkshire Derby Delight

Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has praised the club’s fans after their high attendance at the club’s clash with Huddersfield Town yesterday, a game which saw the Whites storm to a 3-0 win against their local rivals.

The owner referred to the fan base as “beautiful”, and said that he is exceptionally keen to make them happy with the club’s success in the future, as reported by Adam Pope of BBC Radio Leeds.

Cellino saw his side dominate the game yesterday in front of a crowd of over 29,000 fans. While a tight affair was predicted, the Yorkshire giants blew apart Chris Powell’s Huddersfield side.

The deadlock was broken in the first half through a thunderous drive by Rudy Austin, who has been in good form under the caretaker stewardship of Neil Redfearn.

Just before half time, Mirco Antenucci doubled Leeds’s lead after latching on to a rebounded effort from Guiseppe Bellusci.

Souleymane Doukara rounded off the goals with a curled effort into the bottom corner after the break.
