Man Utd To Make £50m January Double Assault – reports

Manchester United are looking to make a £50 million double January move for two key stars at Roma and Borussia Dortmund, with manager Louis van Gaal not satisfied with the squad at his disposal, despite their 4-0 thrashing of Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League yesterday, as reported by the Daily Star.

The club have already spent more than £150 million this summer, with the likes of Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera and Angel Di Maria all commanding significant fees.

They have also laid out big sums on Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind, with Radamel Falcao signing for the club on an expensive loan deal.

Now, however, they are looking to add more players for more large fees, with Van Gaal demanding the addition of German international Mats Hummels, who tops his list for defensive additions, a position in which they remain weak.

They are also hoping to ensnare Kevin Strootman, with the midfield talent considered a firm favourite of Van Gaal’s. Strootman played a key role for the Netherlands as they qualified for this summer’s World Cup.

Both players would command fees of around £25 million, which would take the club’s spending to over £200 million.
