European Giants Chase Liverpool Star – reports

Juventus are reportedly interested in bringing Glen Johnson to Serie A, and the Italian giants believe they can capture him on a free transfer, with the right back’s contract at Anfield set to expire at the end of the season, as reported by Italian outlet Tuttosport.

Johnson has become something of a figure of fun at Liverpool over the last year, and is considered to be one of the weaker links in Brendan Rodgers’s side.

The fact that Juventus are potentially interested is not an exceptional surprise, with a series of English full backs having moved to Serie A this summer, including former England teammates Ashley Cole and Micah Richards, who moved to Roma and Fiorentina respectively.

Johnson’s place in the Liverpool first team is now somewhat under threat from Javier Manquillo, who joined the club on loan from Atletico Madrid this summer. Manquillo has impressed in the small amount of football that he has played for Liverpool thus far this season.
