Liverpool have confirmed that Adam Lallana is set to miss the start of the season with a knee injury he picked up during a pre-season training session in the United States, as reported by their official club website.
Lallana joined the club for £25 million from Southampton earlier this summer, but this set back will hinder him in settling into his new club. He will continue to be assessed in the United States and upon return to England, with the surgery not expected to require any sort of surgery.
The England international has been assessed by Liverpool’s medical staff, who diagnosed a knock to his lateral collateral ligament after a challenge during a training session at Liverpool’s base at Harvard University in Boston.
While there is no specific timeframe on his injury, the injury is expected to tae anywhere up to six weeks to recover from, causing Lallana to miss the start of the season.
