Barcelona have joined the race for PSV Eindhoven star Zakaria Bakkali, which puts a dampener on Arsenal’s hopes of capturing the young talent, who has been dubbed the new Eden Hazard by members of the press, as reported by the Daily Express.
Bakkali has previously been capped by the Belgian national side, and is, surprisingly, available for transfer.
The wing wizard’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and this means that his departure is essentially guaranteed in the near future.
If PSV want to make some money back on one of their more highly rated young talents, they will have to sanction a transfer in January.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for the player in the past, and despite other Premier League interest, the biggest threat to their hopes of capturing the player is almost certainly the Catalan giants.
With Pedro set to move on, Barca are looking at Bakkali as an ideal replacement.
